The Promotions
and Mission Animation Team, together with a full time office staff of
seven and many loyal workers volunteer promoters, work on behalf of the
Irish Province of the Holy Ghost Congregation to "inform
the Irish people of missionary activities in general, and more specifically
the Spiritan way of life and missionary work so as to inspire people to
support apostolate by their prayers, their donations, and possibly by
giving of themselves as members".

The team
takes its inspiration from ordinary men and women throughout the country
who are our supporters and benefactors. It was a lay initiative which
began the Holy Ghost Missionary League in 1921. The faith and creativity
of another layman, Michael O'Neill, gave rise to the foundation of "The
Bourse" in 1932.

In 1948, the two
were combined and organised from premises in Rathmines which remains
the headquarters of the Promotions and Mission Animation Team to this
day.
