2000 Years of Evangelisation 300 Years of Spiritan Mission.

Evangelisation is a mission which has its roots in the very mystery of Christ,present in the Church through the Spirit.In practice,it is the local Churches that are responsible for the mission of Christ in the various territories. The fact of belonging to an international Congregation in no way dispenses us from the duty of becoming one with the Church that receives us. Our openness to others,our ability to listen, our welcoming of all that is good in every human heart, our rising above all discrimination (race,sex,social class, minority groups) are all obligations flowing from our missionary dedication.Our 300 years of Spiritan Mission are our contribution to 2000 years of Christian evangelisation.

Carrying out the work of Evangelisation is now a new part of mission in Ireland. Many confreres from Africa are now coming to share in this mission to Ireland. These new missions are our way of responding to the new needs in our country. These are signs of a new church for us.

Our two Clondalkin parishes are one of the priorities of the Province. The situation in these parishes is very characteristic of the new Ireland. The majority of people have no connection with the Church - how do we set about ministering to such people? It needs a missionary approach.
